What Is Sciatica?
Sciatica is not actually a diagnosis.
It is a term used to describe symptoms that occur when the sciatic nerve becomes irritated, inflamed, or compressed.
The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the human body.
It begins in the lower spine and travels through the pelvis, buttocks, and down both legs.
When something places pressure on or irritates this nerve, symptoms can occur anywhere along its pathway.
